Accommodation
Each of the luxury 11 suites are styled individually, such as the Oriental influenced room with yellow-silk chairs. All rooms are beautifully decorated with gorgeous antique and modern furniture and original artwork - some rooms with four poster beds - with many offering spectacular sea views.
Most rooms have their own balcony overlooking the sea or mountains and all have flat screen TV, DVD player and minibar.
Activities
Whale watching is almost obligatory - with whales swimming right in front of the hotel in Walkers Bay between June and November. Other activities in the area include mountain trails and walks, cycling, bird watching, quad biking, para gliding, deep sea fishing, visits to local wine farms or a round of golf. There is also scuba-diving and shark cage diving available for that once in a lifetime experience!
Facilities
This property has two communal pools – one tiered pool that runs through the central courtyard and one smaller, heated pool overlooking the ocean. There is a spa, a gym and complimentary wifi access throughout the hotel. The restaurant at the hotel offers world class cuisine prepared by the resident gourmet chef. Dishes are a delicate mixture of modern African Cuisine and traditional French techniques with strong Asian and Italian influences. The rate at Birkenhead House is fully inclusive of all meals and drinks as well as your mini-bar.
Child Policy
Children over the age of 10 are welcome. Younger children can be catered for if the entire property is booked for an exclusive stay.

When you book a holiday with us we will provide full driving instructions for reaching your accommodation, where necessary; these can be used by yourself, or you could enjoy the luxury of a driver. Alternatively we will arrange private (car rather than coach) transfers for you; helicopter transfers are also possible for some destinations.
