Accommodation

The luxurious Morukuru Ocean House can accommodate eight adults and four children, and the eco-friendly design means that the natural rock exterior blends seamlessly with an interior inspired by the surrounding fynbos dunes. Enjoy the flow of open plan living, where the lounge and dining areas boast amazing sea views accented by lush furnishings and exquisite décor. The five-star touches continue into each of the four stunningly appointed king-sized bedrooms all featuring spa-like en-suite bathrooms.

With a private guide and game vehicle provided for your exclusive use you can take a game drive at your leisure and whether you fancy getting cosy in front of a romantic fireplace with a good bottle of wine from the well-stocked wine cellar or taking an indulgent soak in a sumptuous outdoor bath, you can rest assured that at Morukuru Ocean House your every whim is catered to.

Activities

Morukuru Ocean House offers a multitude of activities such as guided hikes, mountain biking, fynbos safari, whale watching, bird watching and sandboarding. Spend a day in the towering white sand dunes of De Hoop Nature Reserve and experience the exhilarating thrill of riding these big dunes or get the buckets and spades out and hit the beach where you can swim and snorkel in a natural tidal pool. Enjoy a picnic at any time of the day prepared with the finest food and very best coffee or wine personally selected for you by the owners of the Morukuru Ocean House. A Morukuru Marine walk during low tide, with your personal Morukuru guide, will delight as you explore the living, coastal rock pools teeming with an array of fascinating marine life like octopus and starfish. If you visit between July and October, the Southern Right Whales calve in the bay – an absolute highlight in season and easily observed from the beach. Evenings can be spent relaxing around the fire pit listening to traditional African fireside stories expertly told by your guide or stargazing the most spectacular night skies Africa has to offer.

Child Policy

Children of all ages are welcome at Morukuru Ocean House and a baby-sitting service is available upon request.

When you book a holiday with us we will provide full driving instructions for reaching your accommodation, where necessary; these can be used by yourself, or you could enjoy the luxury of a driver. Alternatively we will arrange private (car rather than coach) transfers for you; helicopter transfers are also possible for some destinations.
