Facilities

When you are not exploring the Garden Route, park yourself poolside with an ice-cold drink or book some pamper time while the kids are happily entertained in the Cubs Corner. Head for the outdoor boma with its comfortable couches and fireplace, for a high tea or a glass of bubbly as the sun sets, the perfect ending to another day in paradise. Expect a sophisticated take on country style fare for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Sage at Hunter’s offers a fine dining experience while The Conservatory offers lighter bistro style dining and both a la carte menus include fantastic wines from top wine farms throughout South Africa. A formal lounge & library with a fireplace is available to all guests with complimentary Wi-Fi access in the main areas and the little curio store is a great place to pick up those all-important mementos.

Activities

Plettenberg Bay is renowned for its unspoilt beach and beautiful views of the Indian Ocean. It is also famous for whale watching with southern right whales being spotted all year round. Book a boat trip to do some whale watching or paddle the rugged coastline on a dolphin-watching kayak trip. There are activities here for thrill-seekers and chill-seekers alike, soaring above the tree tops on a zip line canopy tour to shark cage diving for adventure lovers. If you like your fun a little more laid back, you could find yourself swimming and frolicking with adorable African fur seals or cruising the deep ravine of the Keurbooms River to Whiskey Creek where you can you can walk through forest, take a refreshing dip in the cool waters, sip on sparkling wine and relax in natural scenic beauty.

Child Policy

The five-star treatment extends to children who are well catered for at Hunter’s Country Lodge. With suitable dining preferences and a children’s club for 0 to 6-year old’s consisting of a small paddling pool, climbing frames, sand pit and the Clubhouse, where they can watch videos, paint, draw and play games. A babysitting service is available upon request.

When you book a holiday with us we will provide full driving instructions for reaching your accommodation, where necessary; these can be used by yourself, or you could enjoy the luxury of a driver. Alternatively we will arrange private (car rather than coach) transfers for you; helicopter transfers are also possible for some destinations.
