Sabi Sabi Selati

Game Lodge, Kruger

About

With over 35 years of safari history, this private game reserve offers wild-life seekers some of the best Big Five viewing in Africa, along with superlative accommodation and the finest safari cuisine. Based in the South West of the Sabi Sand Reserve means that you are within quick and easy reach of Kruger Mpumalanga and Skukuza airport.  The lodge also boasts its very own private landing strip for those who wish to beat the baggage reclaim blues.

Selati Camp is steeped in railway history which has been incorporated into the décor touches of this incredibly luxurious accommodation.

Imagine rich textures that mirror the colours of the greatest African sunsets meeting you at every turn. Or original antiques and furniture that will transport you back to a time when the only way of finding your way back to your room was with the light of an oil lamp or the flicker of a fire.

Steeped in grandeur and luxury, the award winning Selati Camp offers guests a real oasis of luxury amidst the green and golden hues of the African bushveld. It speaks of a romance that harks back to the days when the camp was home to the Selati line – a branch railway that crossed the Sabi Sand Reserve.

Accommodation

Selati Camp offers its guests eight luxuriously styled suites including the Ivory Presidential Suite as well as the Lourenco Marques Suite – perfect for honeymooners.

The thatch-roofed suites have been described as having a “colonial grandeur” about them. And with an en-suite bathroom, private outdoor showers and enough space to host an elephant, its no wonder that this camp is a popular choice for those search of a true African Safari getaway.

Facilities

Facilities at Selati include a boma as well a “farmhouse” where delicious local cuisine can be enjoyed daily before heading out on a day filled with African adventure.

Guests can also enjoy a crystal blue pool as well as drinks at the bar and lounge – where the only sound that can be heard are the ripples of water from the nearby waterhole as wildlife gather to quench their thirst.

Child Policy

Children over 12 are welcome at Selati Camp.

The Best of South Africa Travel map displays the locations of the destinations and accommodation that we have selected and visited; for each item, hovering over or clicking the marker will display a short summary and photo of that place or hotel, and hotel pricing. Follow the links in the info box to the full page listing which has much more information.

Note that the online map offers both a satellite view (click satellite in the top right) and, for some locations, a street level view (Drag the person in the top left onto the map). These let you explore the country; and when you wish to explore in person, or if you have any questions about the places you see, give our staff a call, or request a quote. Our staff regularly visit the places and accommodation that we feature.

When you book a holiday with us we will provide full driving instructions for reaching your accommodation, where necessary; these can be used by yourself, or you could enjoy the luxury of a driver. Alternatively we will arrange private (car rather than coach) transfers for you; helicopter transfers are also possible for some destinations.
