Please help us in our efforts to open air bridges between the UK and Africa.

Open Africa Travel

A number of African countries opened their borders in September and while these countries are open and travellers from Europe and USA are enjoying great safaris, the Foreign Commonwealth & Development Office and Public Health England is advising against all but essential travel to all of Africa for travellers from the UK.

Africa has some of the lowest Covid numbers in the world and we now need the UK Foreign Office travel advice to reflect the low Covid infection numbers and good testing across Africa, using the same metrics employed for the rest of the world.

Why is this important?

  • The African continent relies heavily on international travel for £130bn income and 25 million jobs. Each African travel job typically supports 8 - 10 dependents, helping to support up to 250 million people.

  • Wildlife - More eyes on the ground in Africa reduces poaching of rhino, elephant and pangolin and subsistence killing of animals for bush meat.

  • Jobs - Help protect UK and Africa jobs across tour operators, travel agents, tourist boards, airlines, marketing & PR companies, and related support industries

Best of South Africa Travel supports the #Openafricantravel initiative and together with ATTA (African Travel and Tourism Association) and other industry colleagues we are calling for your help.

What you can do:

If you are in the UK, Please sign the petition https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/551094 and send an email to your MP https://www.atta.travel/openafricantravel

If you are in South Africa, Please sign the petition https://www.change.org/OpenSouthAfricaTravel and email your British Embassy/High Commission https://www.atta.travel/openafricantravel

The target of 10,000 signatures will get the petition seen by government and we need 100,000 signatures to get it heard in parliament, which means we need all the support we can get.

Please SHARE THIS INITIATIVE with your family and friends on social media by simply adding the petition link to your Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.

Africa’s wildlife and communities thank you!

Beautiful Botswana

Trip of a lifetime

We came across Best of South Africa Travel whilst planning a 3 week family
holiday to South Africa back in 2019. We soon realised that no one knows South
Africa travel and planning adventures with children quite like Ash does. She
seemed to instinctively understand when we wanted family adventure and when we
were looking for a bit of luxury …
