Cape Cadogan Boutique Hotel

City Hotel, City Bowl

About

Even though Cape Cadogan is classified as a Boutique Hotel it has a big character and an even larger sophistication about it that will transport you to another world. Stepping off the busy streets of Cape Town and into this oasis of calm is an experience not many get to enjoy but one that even the locals dream about.

Set in the busy residential part of Cape Town, Cape Cadogan is instantly recognizable by all who pass it by its large columns with oversized white cotton curtains that blow in the breeze, off set by crisp black and white tiles – and that’s just the entrance.

Inside, you’ll find modern touches in a 19th century shell. The original structure of the building dates as far back as 1912 and was used as a farmhouse before being renovated by a notable architect of that time and transformed into the supreme building it is today.

Its traditional touches of Bay and Sash windows are enhanced by the stained glass in the doorways and windows and the iron railings. These details speak of the time of grace from where this Victorian beauty was born. In fact it is such a remarkable character of the past that it received National Monument Status a few years back.

Accommodation

While the building itself might hark back to older days, the 15 rooms of this luxury accommodation in Cape Town combine modern sophistication with carefully chosen details that remind one of the charming 19th century without being outdated.

The rooms are decorated independent of one another with luxury and comfort in mind. All fifteen of the rooms boast en-suite bathrooms, as well as a private outdoor courtyard or balcony – allowing you to slow time down with a bubble bath or night cap.

The Superior Luxury Room really is the piece de resistance of the Cape Cadogan, featuring its own plunge pool and promising sheer indulgence with every swim stroke you take.

Facilities

The Cape Cadogan staff really go to great lengths to making your stay as comfortable as possible. From remarkable turn down service that includes midnight treats to canapés and home made ice tea in the lounge. To the perfect breakfast served on your private balcony every morning, no indulgent stone is left unturned at this elegant home away from home that’s in close proximity to many of the top places to visit in South Africa.

A lounge and breakfast room are available for guests to relax and enjoy a book from the library in while a free shuttle service is available to take guests to the many Cape Town attractions such as the V and A Waterfront when they feel like leaving the confines of this prestigious building.

Other facilities and services include the pool, room service as well as a babysitting service for evenings when you hit the Cape Town streets and purvey the food of one of the many restaurants in the area.

Our staff regularly visit the places and accommodation that we feature.

Alternatively we will arrange private (car rather than coach) transfers for you; helicopter transfers are also possible for some destinations.
