The Three Boutique

Boutique Hotel, City Bowl

About

Offering panoramic views of Table Mountain and Devil’s Peak from its rooftop sun deck, the Three Boutique Hotel occupies a beautifully-converted National Monument residence. Using bags of style and élan, it has been transformed into a luxury, contemporary boutique hotel by two imaginative couples. Slick, snoozy and affordable, it’s centrally-located amid the city’s quiet Gardens suburb, close to every major site.

Accommodation

There’s a choice of 15 comfortable and contemporary rooms, each with king-size beds, walk-in frameless rain showers, wall-mounted plasma TVs and Nespresso machines.  Rooms are spacious and svelte, a mix of comfortable fabrics, exposed stone walls and muted modern slate-grey and off-white hues.

Facilities

The small seven-metre pool is in the central courtyard, along with flowers, trees and an attractive pergola. Guests can relax with a good book in the bijou lounge, or head upstairs to that sprawling roof terrace, where grass and pot plants await amid the sun-loungers and space. Cocktails can be brought up to watch sunset.  There’s no restaurant, but a handy after-dinner pick-up service covers the many local options. Afterwards, take advantage of the hotel’s honesty bar for a nightcap.

Activities

The whole of Cape Town stands readily accessible. In particular, Long Street and Kloof Street are only a 15-minute walk, and the V&A Waterfront and Camps Bay are just ten minutes’ drive. Just a five-minute saunter away is the Table Mountain Cableway, tickets for which can be booked by Pieter and the team. Ditto for trips to Robben Island, township tours or transport to Boulders Beach. A shuttle bus is available for local pickups and drop offs.

Child Policy

Children of all ages are welcome, though there are no dedicated activities or areas, and the hotel prides itself on being a ‘quiet environment’.

The Best of South Africa Travel map displays the locations of the destinations and accommodation that we have selected and visited; for each item, hovering over or clicking the marker will display a short summary and photo of that place or hotel, and hotel pricing. Follow the links in the info box to the full page listing which has much more information.

Note that the online map offers both a satellite view (click satellite in the top right) and, for some locations, a street level view (Drag the person in the top left onto the map). These let you explore the country; and when you wish to explore in person, or if you have any questions about the places you see, give our staff a call, or request a quote. Our staff regularly visit the places and accommodation that we feature.

When you book a holiday with us we will provide full driving instructions for reaching your accommodation, where necessary; these can be used by yourself, or you could enjoy the luxury of a driver. Alternatively we will arrange private (car rather than coach) transfers for you; helicopter transfers are also possible for some destinations.
